ECE is Largest department in Rice in total number of Graduate Students.
ECE: All enrolled full-time Ph.D. students are supported with full tuition and a stipend as set by Rice University.

Computer Science: All Ph.D. receive financial aid. The minimum score required on the general GRE is 70 percent in the analytical and quantitative sections. However, this is a minimum requirement, and applicants who are offered admission have much higher scores. There is no minimum score for the GRE subject test.

BioEngineering: Rice University does not have an established minimum GRE score, and admission to the bioengineering program is highly competitive. Most of our top candidates have high GRE verbal, analytical, and quantitative scores. Average GRE scores for successful applicants are - verbal 600, quantitative 700, and analytical writing 5.0. The average GPA is 3.7.
