Admission Requirements 3.0/4.0 in B.S, TOEFL>580
Each applicant is normally required to pay an application deposit of $60
Canadian (or $45 US). However, the Faculty of Engineering WAIVES THIS FEE
for applicants and thus no fee is required when applying to the Department
Electrical and Computer Engineering.Simon Fraser University,
graduate school If your first language is not English, you must take the Test of English as
a Foreign Language (TOEFL). (A minimum score of 250 on the electronic test, or
230 with a 5.0 on the test of written English, is required. If using the older
paper test a minimum TOEFL score of 600 is required.)
If you are applying to the M.Eng. or M.A.Sc. or Ph.D. program in the School
of Engineering Science you must take the General Graduate Record Examination
(GRE) unless you hold a degree from a North American university.
For all three degrees, the minimum GRE requirement is Verbal 560,
Quantitative 740, Analytical 700.

Bachelor's Degree - A minimum Grade Point Average of
3.0 (out of 4.0)(equivalent to a "B" or 70%)- the two year rolling average for
2002-03 and 2003-04 is 3.36;
GMAT - A minimum of 500, with a good balance over the three areas - the two
year rolling average for 2002-03 and 2003-04 is 580;
3 years of professional work experience - average for 2003-04 is 8 years;
3 letters of reference, preferably from those who know you in a professional
capacity;
TOEFL - a minimum of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) for
those whose first language or language of previous university study is not
English);
Personal interview.

Science)
Applicants for any of the graduate programs in Computer Science who do not
have a degree from a Canadian University are normally required to submit their
General GRE (Graduate Record Examination) results. We consider the GRE
scores together with other documented evidence of academic strengths, such as
transcripts and letters of reference, and normally require a minimum total
score of 2000, distributed about equally over the tested subject areas (V, Q,
A).
Applicants whose native language is not English must submit their TOEFL
(Test of English as a Foreign Language) results including verbal and
written TWE (Test of Written English) scores. Computer Science requires
minimum scores of 580 for the TOEFL test (237 for the computer-based TOEFL
test) and 4.5 for the TWE test.
