TOEFL Dates and Fees
The TOEFL test can be taken as a computer-based test (CBT), a paper-based test (PBT), and an internet-based test (iBT). The scores from these tests vary and can be converted into the PBT test score which is generally demanded despite the relatively low availability of the test format.
The test dates are generally provided earlier for the PBT tests (in the places that it is offered).

Methods of Payment
Depending on how the candidate registers, different payment methods are accepted:
- The test-taker may choose to pay with a credit or debit card, PayPal, Alipay, or an electronic check if they registered using an ETS account.
- However, payment must be made with an electronic check or credit/debit card if the test-taker prefers to register using the phone numbers provided.
- Filling out the registration form and mailing it to the designated address is an additional method of registering for the TOEFL. The only payment methods accepted in this instance are credit and debit cards.
TOEFL iBT Test Dates
The TOEFL iBT test is conducted at ETS-authorized test centers around the world. The candidate can search for the locations of these test centers and the test dates available in these test centers which the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official ETS website and choose the TOEFL option. Additionally, the candidate can register by mail or over the phone using the
TOEFL iBT Registration Form (PDF). Or click on this link to directly move on to the test dates page-
Find Test Center. The page will contain links to schedule their test appointment, to the TOEFL iBT Home Edition test, and to create an ETS account.
Scroll down the page to see the title in bold called "Find test centers at or near this location".
Step 2: The candidates should enter the name of their city or the city closest to them where they would prefer to take the test. The candidates can also check the box titled "Use my current location" if they are not aware of the test centers near their homes.
Step 3: Choose any two consecutive months during which they will be comfortable taking the test. The blue arrow to the right of the page will help them traverse through the available months.
Step 4: Click on the "Continue" button which is provided at the bottom right of the page. The candidate can choose to provide the Restricted Reservation Code or not depending on whether they know the same. This option isn’t mandatory.
Step 5: Choose dates that suit their convenience from the calendars provided. This is based on the availability of test dates and can be of any test center around the location they have chosen.
I have chosen New Jersey as an example.
Step 6: OR choose the test center of their choice and find the available dates in that specific test center. In this case, the number of dates available will be considerably less but they can choose from it all the same.
Step 7: Once the candidate has chosen a date, they can click on the “Show test times and register”. This will lead to the registration process from where the candidate can register for the chosen test date and center.
